Kyle, Mark, and I talk through Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 11, titled You’re Still Here. This episode was written by Mallory Westfall and Alex Delyle, and directed by K.C. Colwell. We meet Wes, and the tree painter… and things take a weird turn over resources and a manuscript.
Kyle, Mark, and I talk at 210 Words Per Minute! Also known as Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 10, this episode was written by the showrunners Ian Goldberg & Andrew Chambliss, and directed by long-time Hollywood director Ron Underwood. We get a bottle episode that mostly takes place in a mall in a bit of a sendoff to the classic Dawn of the Dead. Grace and Morgan get closer, while Dwight confronts one of Logan’s guys.
Channel 4, Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 9, was an episode that was probably in the making since What’s Your Story. In that episode, we first see Al’s desire to interview people to get their stories. It was a long time coming to shoot an episode in this documentary/infomercial style, a first for The Walking Dead franchise.
On this episode 59 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 8, titled Is Anybody Out There? First, we have an important announcement. We are leaving the GSM network, and striking out on our own! The podcast will continue, but as part of our new home at Talk Through Media, but we’ll have more information on that in a few weeks, and go to walkingdeadtalkthrough.com, which currently points to GSM, but will point to our new home soon once we have completed the move. We have more discussion about S5E7 Still Standing, and we finally get to this episode 34 minutes and 22 seconds into the podcast.
On this episode 58 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 7, titled Still Standing. First, we hear Kyle’s impressions of last week’s episode, as well as more discussion about S5E6 The Little Prince, so we finally get to this episode 30 minutes and 37 seconds into the podcast.
On this episode 55 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 4, titled Skidmark. We all thought it was a good episode, not a great one, but that we’re excited for some of the things it put into play for the next couple of episodes. FYI, we had more discussion for last week’s episode, so we finally get to this episode 20 minutes and 57 seconds into the episode.
On this episode 54 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 3, titled Humbug’s Gulch. Mark and I loved this episode and thought it was the best episode since last season, while Kyle thought it was weaker than the previous two episodes, though he still thought It was a good episode. John and June run into some trouble with another old character joining the show, but, this time, from the main show, while the rest of the group struggle while trying to find the kids. FYI, we had more discussion for last week’s episode, so we finally get to this episode 27 minutes and 30 seconds into the episode.
On this episode 53 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 2, titled The Hurt That Will Happen. It was a good episode, but not great. We welcomed an old character back, met a new one, and gave another one weird things to say. FYI, we had some discussion for last week’s episode, so we discuss this episode 31 minutes and 15 seconds into the episode.
Kyle, Mark and Brian talk through Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 1, the season premiere, titled Here to Help. It was a good episode, with some promise for the season, but also had a few headscratchers, like who knew that Al (and possibly Strand) could fly a plane?
On episode 90 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Mark and I discuss The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 8, titled Evolution. Mark liked this one more than I did. I would have appreciated filling in the Michonne vs. everyone else, or so it seems, mystery rather than spending all this time with Henry and the angsty teens. By the way, during the hiatus, sign up to our Facebook group to stay in touch!
On episode 83 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Mark and I discuss The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 1, the season premiere, titled A New Beginning. Mark loved it. I didn’t love it, but I liked it a lot. It was a setup episode, and a bit long, but there wasn’t much I could find fault with, unlike the second half of the Fear season 4.
On this episode 51 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 16, the season finale, titled …I Lose Myself. While not the worst episode, it certainly wasn’t the best either. It had some great moments, particularly the moments between John and June, but this episode suffered from the same unbelievable use of time and distance and plot points that stretched my suspension of disbelief beyond the breaking point. I still look forward to what the show will come up with next season… but my anticipation is nothing like it was at the end of season 3.
On this episode 50 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle, Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 15, titled I Lose People… This was a very good episode that finally made it clear what the showrunners were trying to do with this show, though it wasn’t without fault.
On this episode 49 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, Kyle is out, as Mark and I discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 14, titled MM 54. We finally get some backstory of the Filthy Woman, though it had some issues.
On this episode 48 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, we discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 13, titled Blackjack. This episode brought in all of the characters, though not all together. Brian and Mark liked it a lot more than the last few episodes, but Kyle liked it a lot less.
On this episode 47 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, we discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 12, titled Weak. This episode featured the directorial debut of Colman Domingo, and he did a good job in his first outing, with a well acted and directed story, that had a few negatives that I can’t really fault him for. We liked it, but not a lot. That said, it was better than last week.
On this episode 46 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, we discuss Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 11, titled The Code. This was a well acted episode, with interesting new characters, and a plot that has more holes than Swiss cheese! While Mark liked it, Kyle didn’t, and Brian thought it might have been the worst episode of the either Walking Dead show to date. Brian also updates you on his experiences this week with AMC Premiere.

On this episode of The Walking Dead Talk Through, I am joined by my new co-host, Mark Kirkman, no relation :-), as we analyze Season 8 Episode 9, titled Honor. Overall, we thought the episode was middle of the road, not bad but not great. We say farewell to Carl, but I was surprised that I didn’t cry.
Bury Me Here is the title of the 13th episode of The Walking Dead this season, and it was also what one character wanted, and, in the end, got. That character was Richard, and the one who buried him, both literally and figuratively was Morgan. Although the previews lead us to believe that this was a Carol-centric episode, it was really all about Morgan. Morgan was the one who arguably had the biggest character change this episode, a change that was brought about ultimately by Richard, the one he buried. What a circle of life and death this episode was; and it also brought a little rearranging and mind-changing.
In this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, Here’s Not Here is an all about Morgan extravaganza. This latest installment of our favorite show picks up around the time that Rick, Michonne and Carl find him in the season 3 episode, Clear.
What a season! For us, Conquer, the final episode of season five did not disappoint, and according to the ratings, much of America agrees with us. Conquer, The Walking Dead season five finale, once again won the night for cable with an uptick in the ratings from the previous week, and with Talking Dead coming in second. Only 181 days until October and counting.
The wait is almost over! We know you’ve been dying for our second hiatus episode…er…yeah, that’s what you can’t wait for! In our shortest episode yet (yay!), we discuss some news about the spinoff and the upcoming second half to season 5.
Our very first hiatus episode is a roundtable discussion of the first half of season 5. Join me, Brian and special guest host Tony from The Devil You Know: A Constantine Podcast as we talk about our favorites and some things we wished they did better….
Mixed reviews for me and my co-host about the season 5 mid-season finale, “Coda” but still a strong episode rating from both of us. In this episode, we talk about what thrilled us and what didn’t, what hit the right spot, and what missed the mark.
