TWDTT 124 – Acheron, Part I (S11E1)
We are back!
For episode 124 of The Walking Dead Talk Through, Brian, LT, Kyle and special guest Ruthie talk through The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 1 titled Acheron, Part 1. It was written by Angela Kang and Jim Barnes and directed by Kevin Dowling.
Maggie and Negan have a spat!
We have long known Maggie and Negan are not BFFs and we get to see this more out in the open. But what we couldn’t figure out is what the heck is she waiting for. Dragging him along on a mission when we know she what’s him to part this apocalyptic world. But it seems the tables (or dumpster) have turned by the end of this Episode. So we will just have to wait to find out. Although we do think that Angela Kang and the Gimple have learned from their ways and won’t treat their fans to another dumpster gate.
We talk a lot about the opening scene at the military base and the Mission Impossible take to get some MREs in wooden crates. There were some questions about why and what they were doing because while it was a cool way to open the show. It just didn’t make a lot of sense. Plus LT brings up some good points about Maggie and her death match attitude that also didn’t seem to make any sense. Why put your people through all that when you are going to fight some other baddies for much-needed food and supplies.
Also, we are joined by the wonderful Ruthie who you may know from early Walking Dead Talkthrough seasons as well as the first few seasons of Fear the Walking Dead Talktthough. She joins in midstream to give us her takes about the season premiere of Season 11.
Yumiko, Eugene, King Ezekiel and Princess get the runaround by the Commonwealth Bureaucrats.
Princess has some Eugene skills but in a more behavioral profiling sort of way where Eugene is all facts and figures. We are looking forward to how she can use this in the episodes ahead. King E might not be able to hide his cancer for too much longer. I mean when you cough up blood in front of your captors, things gonna change. And Yumiko gets a surprise from her past that looks to change the status (hopefully) of the others. I guess we shall see.
