Star Trek: Picard – Season 1 Episode 1 – Remembrance
We’re back with extensive coverage of the premiere of Star Trek: Picard, Season 1 Episode 1, titled Remembrance. Remembrance’s teleplay was written by Akiva Goldsman and James Duff. The story was written by Akiva Goldsman & Michael Chabon & Kirsten Beyer & Alex Kurtzman and James Duff (there’s a whole Writer’s Guild of America explanation as to why it is written that way. The episode was directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper.
Fred’s Pics!
Fred from The Netherlands was kind enough to send us images for this series premiere, and we used many of them here!
It’s the Enterprise!
Some would say that the Enterprise is not lit correctly, but it looked good to me! We’ve seen this scene in the trailers, but it was still good to see the actual scene.

Skylines we haven’t seen…
This appears to be the first time we’re seeing a futuristic Boston in the 24th Century. We also see Japan for the first time, in Okinawa. We also see San Francisco and Paris, but we have seen those before, especially San Francisco.

Dahj experiences a traumatic event.

Her Xahean boyfriend is dead via an assassin’s knife.

A retired Picard…

I have to say that Laris and Zhaban have already left a strong impression on me. If they can devote themselves to Picard in this way, they are good people. They have to be.

I guess journalists haven’t changed much in the late 24th Century!
Richter, the journalist, didn’t exactly make me want to like her very much. However, she does paint the picture that the Federation we saw in the TNG days is no longer. It’s a much different animal in 2399.

Dahj goes to Picard
I mentioned in the episode that I thought Picard’s ability to trust this young woman who said she just killed three people without even asking many questions seemed a little suspect, but I guess his vague recollection of her face, and then later seeing that the face in the second painting, might have been enough to explain him.

Is Dahj Data or Neo?

Goodbye, Dahj. We hardly knew ye.

Time to head to the Daystrom Institute!

Romulans & Borg & Synths? Oh my!!!
