Talking Through Alaska

For this episode 70 of Fear the Walking Dead Talk Through, LT, Kyle and Brian talk through Alaska. Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 3 was written by Mallory Westfall, and directorial return of Colman Domingo. We also discuss a little bit about World Beyond Episode 4 titled The Wrong End of a Telescope.

AL and Dwight go for a walk and find love!

In this episode, we are paired with Al and Dwight on one of Ginny’s errands roaming around who knows where to document the fall of civilization. Not that we don’t already know that most didn’t survive, but I guess that doesn’t stop Ginny’s giving out some ZA busy work. This was a good episode focused on Al and Dwight’s budding friendship and their struggles with this new reality that our group has been in since the Ginny takeover. AL is still stalking Isabelle on the walkie that leads them to some office dwellers who seem to not have moved on outside of their workplace. In any case, we get some highs and lows but overall a really good character-driven episode, again. Fear is running on all cylinders and this is a great thing this season. Oh, and we get a surprise (well did we not already know this was going to happen, at some point?) at the end that I know for one, got me a little misty-eyed.

We could still use your help!

This season, collecting the feedback has been challenging, and we could use your help. Our availability is limited for each of us on Tuesdays when the bulk of the feedback comes in. We have to grab it from the various sources, including the Facebook group, the feedback form, email, and voice mail; put it into a Google doc; separate it into the appropriate sections of the podcast: Ratings, sauces, and feedback; and then fix things like spelling mistakes, grammar, and format, and then divide it by who will read it. If you are available most Tuesdays that we have an episode to record and want to help the podcast out, please drop us a line, either using the feedback form, the Facebook group, or if you are friends with us on Facebook, over Messenger. We’ll work out something if you can.

  1. Aaron says:

Gimple’s ego won’t let Madison return yet.

I will will Alicia/Althea into existence!

The key to my heart is with Madison; VIVA Madison!!! 😀

Oh cool so he started with Al then did Dwight and now Colman is doing them together! 🙂 I agree, give me more of his episodes, but leave time for Strand to be in episodes also. Again Lennie can stay behind the camera; #NoMorgan!

Re the funeral zombie: one word LT – Botox.

Lol to LT’s rat rant. 🙂

Same Kyle, the axe remodel was dumb!

How dare you not play the “Oh Sherri” song clip each time Brian! Ha.

I think what’s stopping them LT is the fact, just like with Strand and Alicia last week, if Al and Dwight don’t return or cause too much trouble then Ginny will kill some of the group and they don’t want that even if the group would want them to be safe and free from her.

Not going to lie, I did consider Sherri would be dead by the time Dwight found her.

“unless Ginny has a forensic scientist and a lab back there.” – Dr. Plot McGuffin at your service LT! 🙂

I agree with Deeda (SORRY if I spelt the name wrong) in that they do not give Alicia enough to do on the series; again I remind the writers that this was a series about a family and she’s in that family and she’s the last Clark member so people want to see her! Post Madison she is the connection to the original concept even though Strand and Daniel are also original members but we don’t see her hardly ever. Just actor related Alycia brings a lot of fans from other series, mainly 100, so those fans want to see her and if you don’t deliver they may leave and thus down go your ratings and chance for renewal; as a strictly Fear viewer again we want to see our originals and she’s one! I do not tune in to see Morgan Jones. I enjoy most of the new characters, but I still want to see our originals especially again given something huge happened a few seasons ago (we lost Madison). Alicia should be leading this group or at the very least be the second most focused on character; she’s the “good guy” still of the group if you want to look at it like that so why don’t you do things which test how far she will go to stay that way? Can you push her to levels of dark we see in the others? We know she’ll kill because we’ve seen it! What does Alicia’s dark side look like compared to others? Does she stick to her guns and stay good despite all Ginny puts her through which makes her the better person quote unquote? Alicia is a main character and an original and they treat her like a guest character of the week at times…I’m pretty sure at this point the bounty hunter who died in episode one has had more to do than Alicia has since post season four. Okay that’s a stretch but you know what I mean. Alicia can be just as interesting as John or Al, she can be just as conniving as Strand, and she can be just as deadly as Daniel so why don’t we see more of her? All this talk of taking down Ginny from within I would love to see at this point it be Alicia’s plan that saves them all instead of something crazy they Mary Sue up for Morgan or something Strand cooked up because she is important too. And then the next season give her the lead role she should have had in season 4B if Madison wasn’t going to be there! #GiveUsMoreAliciaClarkAwesomeness!

I fully support Madison returning! 🙂

Who’s to say Ginny doesn’t know about the black helicopters and that will come up later? 🙂

They (Gimple) did Kim dirty. 🙁

LT, are you telling me you wouldn’t want to see the battle of wills between Ginny and and Madison and how Madison would just tear her apart piece by piece?! Come on now! Or what if Madison actually sided with Ginny on some things because how interesting would that be to see?! One of the best things about Madison was her ambiguity and how you never knew if she was going to be your friend or your enemy and if she was your friend just how long would that last before she maybe traded you over for a long term goal? And the acting Kim brought with that – dude she was easily the most intriguing character on this series! You never knew what Madison would do each week so it kept you guessing. You know Morgan is going to Mary Sue it up each week and make some lame speech about woo is him or how he’s so alone, you know Daniel is doing a long con, you know Strand will talk his way out of things and you can even predict some others’ decisions but you couldn’t predict Madison and it was refreshing. You could easily work her into what’s going on in the world! It was definitely a loss for the series when Madison left!

You could have her pop up with the black helicopter people even because you know they’ll be a thing later, be it when every Walking Dead product merges or post Ginny but you know with the Rick movies that situation is coming where they all meet up.

This season is 2 for 3 for me; I didn’t like the first episode of the season of course.

I will forever rage against Morgan Jones.

    #BRINGBACKMADISON!!!

“no one can be happy on these shows for long.” – sadly true.

I fully expected rats to pour out of that wall breach Al made!

Ah Madison popping out Troy’s eye – good times. Again I ask how did she know to do that? Odds are she blinds him or rips it out so it can’t go back in, but he was able to work it back in and she worked him with a spoon – Madison can give Daniel a run for his money with torture I feel! We never did learn if she had military training or not because she was awfully in tune with the military layout that episode and yeah we know she killed her dad but you don’t just jump from killing your abusive father to knowing how to use a spoon to pop out an eye without some training. Just again going back to Daniel she was was all into him torturing the solider in season one so there was definitely more to Madison than we saw week to week!
